Applicants will be required to participate in a written evaluation process proctored by members of the City of Menifee Human Resources department or member of the Menifee Police Department.

Candidates that attain a passing score on the PELLET B will be notified to take a Physical Agility Test (PAT) and an Oral Interview (OI).

The physical fitness test assesses candidates' physical capabilities and their ability to meet the physical demands of police work and training, based on California POST standards. - Test Components
The physical fitness assessment includes the following components, which are scored according to gender and age-based standards set forth by POST:- 1.5-Mile Run: A cardiovascular endurance test with a required time limit.
- Run must be completed in 14 minutes or less. Applicants who stop or walk at anytime during the test will be disqualified.

Candidates must meet or exceed the minimum physical standards for each event to pass. Candidates who do not meet the standards may be allowed to re-take the test within a specified time frame. Applicants will be allowed to take each test twice, except for the 1.5 mile run. Re-tests will be administered with at least two minutes between test and re-test.

- Scoring

Conditional Job Offer

- Psychological evaluation by a licensed professional.
- Polygraph Examination.
- Medical examination and drug screening.
Upon successful completion of all stages of the recruitment process, candidates will be enrolled in a California POST Academy to begin their formal law enforcement training. This training will consist of both classroom instruction and hands-on, practical training in various aspects of law enforcement.
Note:
Applicants who are already accepted and enrolled in a California POST-approved police academy have demonstrated their readiness and ability to meet the physical, cognitive, and psychological requirements of the academy. As such, these individuals will bypass the written and physical fitness assessment stages and proceed directly to the oral interview.
This streamlined process ensures that only the most qualified candidates are selected for law enforcement training, adhering to POST standards to maintain the highest level of competence in California’s law enforcement agencies.
