PROBLEM ORIENTED POLICING (POP) UNIT

The Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) is dedicated to proactively solving issues in the community through creative and strategic policing methods. The Menifee Police POP Unit is comprised of a POP Sergeant, police officers, Homeless Liaison Officer, Community Behavioral Assessment Team members, and School Resource Officers, who are specially trained to resolve criminal activity, crimes related to narcotics, quality of life and general nuisance issues throughout the city.

A key function to a successful POP unit is their partnership with the community. The POP team meets regularly with staff and city leadership to ensure community concerns and needs are being heard and addressed. POP officers are regularly available to visit community groups such as Business Watch, Neighborhood Associations, and Neighborhood Watch groups to impact crime in areas of concern.
